Your Financial Rights

Before we can claim “Our Basic Rights”  as provided in Scriptures we must first accept their teachings.  The basic faith of the Bible is that God is God and the Creator.  Secondly, we determine what is His purpose and plan for mankind.

To accomplish the first step one must repent of their sins and be willing to make a 180 degree turn - away from their own way - surrendering to His way.  We particularly need to purge all our attitudes and start adapting to the attitudes taught by Jesus (a good place to start is Matthew 5, the sermon on the mount).

Why is that so important? We must recognize that our way of life eventually leads to a dead end.  Without the Son of God in our hearts and lives it’s over.  Jesus asked, “What profit is there for a man if he gained the whole world and lost his soul?”   He also said “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man comes unto the Father, but by me.”  Unless we are willing to embrace this as truth we have no hope except what we can do in our own strength and abilities.

As we receive His forgiveness (by repenting and being covered by His blood sacrificed at Calvary) we are accepted by the Father.

Second
:  Then we can search the Scriptures, to learn His teachings and His will.  Then His promises become available to us. We can learn what the will of God is for us.  In that process, the Word gives us understanding and wisdom in the direction we should go.

On this page we will help get you started  on such a search of God's Word regarding Finances and His Children.  First, what does the Word teach us about God's will on this subject?

We learn:

God wants us to prosper – The very first command God ever gave to man (Adam and Eve) was to go forth and multiply; have dominion over all things and creatures.  Jesus said that God was glorified – honored – if we grow and produce much fruit.  3 John 2 tells us it is His will for us to prosper and be in health even as our soul prospers.

That may not come immediately – it is a process and it is imperative for a follower to study the Word, especially the four gospels Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. In those books we see God's love and attitudes toward all people, even non-believers. For example, we read that God so loved the world that He gave His only Son (Jesus) that whosover believed on Him should not perish; but have everlasting life.  Jesus said that He had come to do the will of His Father.  So He became a book that if studied would show us God’s attitudes toward meeting the needs of people even those who were not committed to Him.

As we learn these truths we began to feel our faith growing with the knowledge that, if anyone would die for us - how would that person NOT want us to be well and prosperous?

He wants us to "Owe no man nothing except love."
Romans 13:8   We should be able to meet our needs without having to borrow. The Biblical definition of prospering is to have whatever is needed to meet the need as it may arise. 2 Cor 9:8

God does want us to do our part and not complicate the problem with bad habits.

A great habit to develop from His Word says, Whatsoever your hand finds to do do with all your might.  Also, Proverbs 6 says, Go to the ant and be wise.

Once we acknowledge our errors and ask Him for forgiveness, as we would our earthly father, we can expect His assistance in helping us to prosper.

Study the Following Scriptures:
